>Our Little Angels

>This past weekend, we had our annual Miller (my Mom’s side of the family) and Mellinger (my Dad’s side) family reunions. It’s always fun getting to see all of my cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents (and whatever my cousin’s kids are called to me!). With each passing year, there are more and more little ones running around which makes things different and fun … and plenty more exciting! This year, we decided to mix things up a litle during the reading of the Christmas Story at the Miller get together and have the little ones “help out.” So we dressed them up as angels (my cousin, her husband and little baby boy played Mary, Joseph and Baby Jesus!) and had them put stuffed animals around the “manger” (they doubled as shepherds!) … and I must say considering we had 7 little kids 4 and under involved things went very well and the kiddos all did a great job! Hailey, Ryle and Justin also sang Away in a Manger while doing hand motions which was fun to watch! Then they performed it again at the Mellinger reunion on Sunday for everyone to enjoy. The kids have been having fun playing with some of the gifts that they’ve already received from our babysitters (thanks Jon and Lana!) and grandparents.

Tomorrow night we have our Caregroup (and the other singles group in our church) coming over for the annual Christmas social. This year we’re doing a dinner, so Brian is looking forward to frying another turkey! We’re also having ham, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, green beans, corn, stuffing, cranberry sauce, rolls, and plenty of desserts!! So we should have plenty of food! After dinner we’re having a white elephant gift exchange which is always pretty entertaining.

Here’s a pic with our little angels …

  1. >Leave it to Krista to give you the correct “answer” to your cousin dilema. ๐Ÿ™‚ Anyway – sounds like you’ve been busy – but having fun, too! Don’t know when we’ll see you next, hopefully not too long. Have a Merry Christmas. We’re looking forward to watching the boys open gifts this year. They seem to get it now. Love ya, D

  2. >Thanks, Krista … and my cousin’s kids and my kids are second cousins, right? It’s a good thing I have you for a sister-in-law (at least I think that’s what you’re called!). :)Love ya,Sarah
